The boys really wanted to see 'Daddy's Movie Theater', so we planned a fun road trip to Santa Fe.
Here are a few pictures from what turned out to be an amazing adventure...
We stopped for lunch at a park where a rodeo was going on.
Palo Duro Canyon State Park:
The boys loved all the wild life we saw, both at our campsite and on our hikes.
Three Bridges Trail...
The Cave...
Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo:
We just made it before the sun went down!
Sledding in Santa Fe National Forest:
We were driving up the mountains for a hike and saw more snow than we were expecting, so...
we bought a sled at a little ski shop and had some fun!
Hiking in Santa Fe National Forest:
The trail was VERY steep going up. Thankfully that meant a VERY fast going down!
Museum of International Folk Art:
Miles loved building with the construction blocks and Calvin & Max loved all the different masks. It's a perfect little museum for kids.
Downtown Santa Fe:
We showed the boys some of our favorite spots.
The Railyard:
Lots of fun and play around 'Daddy's Movie Theater'.
Another proud moment!
Cerrillos, New Mexico:
We met a couple of Doug's former clients in this old mining town. The boys roamed the property of a local restaurant with the peacocks, then picked out some gems at its tiny museum!
Bandelier National Monument:
We spent the morning exploring the cave dwellings, then found a campsite for some downtime. Even though the temperature dropped to the low 30's during the night, the boys still slept like logs!
Camping...
Tent Rocks National Monument:
This place was incredible! The hike started a little shaky - it was hot and we were all tired - but then we made it to the base of the rocks, Max lost his tooth, and things started to get exciting!
Roswell, New Mexico
An alien museum and a UFO McDonald's - very touristy, but still fun.
Colorado City, TX:
A quick stop to see where Daddy used to live.
